Angelina Jolie visited poverty stricken families in Afghanistan earlier this week. Angelina traveled Wednesday and Thursday where thousands of former refugees have returned to the country living in overly crowded and inhumane conditions.

“The courage, resilience and quiet dignity of returnee families rebuilding their lives against the kind of adversity few of us can imagine shows the human spirit at its best,” Jolie said.

According to the UN more than 5 million refugees have returned to the country since the fall of the Taliban regime and 3 million still remain in exile.
